3D DESIGN APPLICATIONS
Interior Design
I create models of rooms and spaces, allowing to experiment with different layouts, furniture arrangements, colours, and materials. This helps clients visualise the final look of their interiors before any construction or renovation takes place.
Here are three options for one kitchen, model rendered with Podium.
I made this model of one of Damien Hirst's medicine cabinets for the Palms Empathy Suite job. I used one single image, painstakingly creating the bottles and mapping on the graphics. It took a day and a half.
Model rendered with Thea render.
3d Rendering
Animated walkthroughs are such a great way to get a feel of how a set is going to look. Recently I’ve been working with set decorators who have found the animations particularly useful. I create a model of the set (either location or build). I make the props and furniture, place them in the main model and decorate as instructed. Walking through the model really gives a sense of how everything will work together and how the space works. Looking at different options is quick and easy.

Shadow Plotting
I can position any model anywhere in the world. I then orientate the model correctly with north. This will show where the shadows will be on any date at any time of day.
Props & Set Dressing
I can help with the making of props, signage, furniture, and other set dressing elements.
My models are often used during the pre-visualisation process to create 3D representations of scenes, sets, and environments. Directors and cinematographers can use my models to plan camera angles, blocking, and shot compositions before filming begins, helping to streamline the production process and visualise the final look of the film.
Pre-visualisation
My models are used in VFX for references or starting points for making digital assets and environments. These assets are used for digital compositing, matte painting, and CG animation. We can ensure accuracy and consistency between departments.
I made a model for the set for a Virgin Media job. My model was shared with the VFX team as the spot involved both stop frame animation on full size sets and also CGI.
The model was also very useful in calculating the amount of toys needed to dress the set.
VFX
Production designers and art directors use my models to design and visualise sets for film and commercial productions. We create detailed 3D models of sets, including interior and exterior spaces, furniture, props, and other elements. These models can then be used to plan set construction, coordinate with other departments, and communicate the overall vision for the production.
Set Design
My models are used in architectural design for buildings, houses, landscapes, and interior spaces. Architects can use them to visualise their designs, communicate ideas to clients, and create detailed plans for construction.
Architectural Design
I can apply many different effects to my rendered models. Sometimes photo realism isn’t what’s best and a level of ambiguity for pre-visuals is prefferable.
Concept Art
I can use a SketchUp model to help accurately calculate the amount of materials needed for a job. For example, by using components, I can quickly find out how many tiles need to be ordered or how many litres of paint we’ll need.
I have a virtual timber yard and a mouldings library based on real life available materials. It makes drawing speedy and quantity calculation easy.
Material Calculation & Waste Reduction
I create scaled plans and elevations from my 3d models for planning and building.
